Glorious Victorian silver cuff bangle with three lines of ivy leaves and the word MIZPAH at the centre. Mizpah jewellery symbolises a bond between two estranged parties, with God as their witness. Its first usage (Gen 31.49-50) refers to it as a pillar of stones set up by Jacob and Laban. The pillar of stones acted as a witness to the bond between the two men. The sentiment is further reinforced by the ivy motifs, themselves symbolising marriage, fidelity, friendship, affection - "I cling to thee". With JM Banks patent clasp and English hallmarks indicating it was made in the year 1882.
